Transformation: Webster’s 1828 Dictionary defines transformation as metamorphosis.
It goes on to define metamorphosis. “Metamorphosis: as from a caterpillar to a butterfly; a change of heart in man by which his disposition and temper are conformed to the divine image.” Change is a constant. It’s all around us all the time. Change happens whether we want it to or not, whether we like it or not, whether we acknowledge it or not, whether we see ourselves as a part of the change or not. The fact is, things are going to change. We will always be in the midst of some kind of metamorphosis.
Although things are going to change, that doesn’t always mean they are going to change for the better. With all change that happens to us and around us we get the opportunity to choose how we let it affect us. The truth is that WE are the ones that decide if things change for the better. Once we reconcile in our minds that change is real, change is constant, and that we can’t opt out, we can choose to make sure that we are engaged in the change so that our changes become changes for the better.
It’s not what changes happen TO us that matter most but rather what changes IN us that ultimately determines what changes THROUGH us.
Most of us get stuck at some point in our lives because of what has happened to us in the past and we are unable to move forward. We don’t realize that we have power, regardless of what happens to us, to let what happens mature us (digest, discern, and learn the lessons). When we learn the lessons and mature God is able to do in us what He needs to do for our growth and our good.
What are some changes in life that you are currently experiencing. How can you navigate these changes so that they work to make you better?
