How you frame your words will be how you frame your world. Your self-talk and the words you speak will determine whether you think positive or negative thoughts and whether you feel good or bad. Truly, life and death are in the power of the tongue!
On January 9, 1969, Bruce Lee wrote himself a letter and used the words “My Definite Chief Aim” as the title. He wrote:
I, Bruce Lee, will be the highest paid Oriental super star in the United States. In return I will give the most exciting performances and render the best of quality in the capacity of an actor. Starting 1970 I will achieve world fame and from then onward till the end of 1980 I will have in my possession $10,000,000. I will live the way I please and achieve inner harmony and happiness.
By 1973, the classic film “Enter the Dragon” had helped Bruce Lee achieve worldwide fame as an actor.
This week, intentionally listen to your self-talk and conversations with others. Are there negative things you routinely speak about your family, marriage, business, and/or future? If so, take time to intentionally rewrite those sentences and begin using them. If you catch yourself making a negative statement, stop and correct yourself.
