“You guide me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny.” – Psalms 73:24 NLT
Whether we realize it or not, everyday we are being “guided” by something or someone. We all have “counsel” voices that we listen to.
There’s our inner voice that is always talking even when we are not. This voice says, “Yes” or “No” before it comes out of our mouth. It says, “That’s good” or “Not the best.” It tells me, “I should do that” or “I shouldn’t do that.”
But it’s not just our voice we listen to, it’s “their” voice. We all allow voices to influence us, but to often times the “their” voice we listen to is more by default than by design. Too often times, we allow the negative things people have said about us, to make us feel negative about ourselves and therefore everything we are a part of, marriage, job, past, present and future, are shaped by what “they” said about us, that affects everything around us.
The Psalmist said, “Guide me with YOUR counsel…” Rather than listening to his own voice or their voice by default, he chose to listen to God’s voice as his counsel.
Who is counseling you today in your everyday decisions? If you will listen to the RIGHT voice, you will have an EXTRAVAGANT “glorious destiny.”
