“You can’t hit if you don’t swing.”

The first time I ever heard this quote was when I was in the 7th grade. I was riding in the car with my dad. The year was 1972. The place was 4416 W. Clarendon, in Dallas. The girl was Sally.

As we were pulling up to our home, I saw Sally down the street and said, “Dad, she is pretty.” He didn’t stop at our house. He drove down the street where she was, stopped the car, looked at me and said, “You can’t hit if you don’t swing.” I got out of the car and met Sally.

What’s on your street?
What are you attracted to?
What do you want?

Don’t let life go by while you stand at home plate, waiting for the perfect pitch. Swing for the fences! Go for your dreams! Do it now… Take a Swing!
