“Wisdom has built her house. She has hewn out her seven pillars.” Proverbs 9:1
Today is December 9, and one of my daily determinant disciplines is to read the Proverb of the Day. The number 7 mentioned in this scripture is significant, yet it does not tell us what the seven pillars are. According to Hermeneutics, the science and art of biblical interpretation, anytime a number is mentioned in scripture it gives interpretive significance to that scripture. In the context of this scripture, we can apply both the First Mention Principle and the Numeric Principle.
The first time we see seven in scripture is Genesis 1, the biblical account of creation. I believe the 7 days of creation represent the 7 pillars spoken of in Proverbs 9:1.
· On the first day God hewn LIGHT.
· On the second day God hewn ATMOSPHERE.
· On the third day God hewn STRUCTURE.
· On the fourth day God hewn ORDER.
· On the fifth day God hewn MOVEMENT.
· On the sixth day God created hewn RELATIONSHIP.
· On the seventh day God hewn RE-CREATION/REST.
Today, think about adding and emphasizing those seven pillars into your house.
Pursuing Wisdom and building God’s house,
Keith

These are the pillars I have built our home on. All people of goodness are welcomed.
My own body, God’s domain, is also built on those same pillars.
God bless you.
Loved this teaching. Got to get my printer working so I can save this on paper and read it often. I have pondered over this scripture many times, read Matthew Henry and other commentarys but I believe you have received a fuller meaning. Thank you for answering my question.
