Here are three reasons to live a grateful life…

  • Gratitude helps you reset your heart to be fixed on what matters most…so you won’t be “issued” by what matters least. So many times, we focus on life’s “issues” and not on God. But the obstacles in our life are not the real issues … rather, it is what’s in our hearts. The Bible says, “For as a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” (Proverbs 23:7) I encourage you to think honor…think the best…think praise! Be grateful…wake up your heart and get on the right side of life!

Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.” – Proverbs 4:23 NKJV

Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” – Proverbs 4:23 NLT

Hear, my son, and be wise; And guide your heart in the way.” – Proverbs 23:19 NKJV

  • Gratitude helps to reset your mouth to speak life…and not death. There is power in the tongue when you choose to speak praise and not curses, when you speak grateful and not ungrateful, and when you choose to say the best thing and not the worst thing. When you do, you bring power to your tongue (positive) and death to the negative. Be grateful and rejoice in the Lord…from the fruit of your lips, give thanks in everything!

From the fruit of their lips people enjoy good things, but the unfaithful have an appetite for violence. Those who guard their lips preserve their lives, but those who speak rashly will come to ruin.” – Proverbs 13:2-3 NIV

  • Gratitude helps you to reset your eyes to see the best…rather than the worst. God has great things in store for you! Speak things of faith and you will see good things will come your way. The joy of the Lord is your strength. Be grateful…the best is yet to come!

But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so, no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.” – I Corinthians 2:9-11 NKJV

Be grateful … it will help you reset your default settings so you can fix your heart on what matters most, speak life, and see the best!
