“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” — Albert Einstein

1828 Webster’s definition: Genius is “a peculiar nature, disposition, aptitude or character that directs one’s course of life.

My definition: A Genius is someone who can solve a problem that others can’t. They know what to do, how to do it, when to do it, why they need to do it, and, because they are willing to do it, they are a GENIUS!

Geniuses don’t approach problems the same way everyone else does. Most people try to solve a problem by looking at what it is in the present and then going back to what has been in the past. Unfortunately, many people do not realize that their self-image is partially shaped by their conclusions about life in the past. We don’t even realize the walls we have built that insulate our problem-solving Genius. We don’t realize the Great Barrier Reefs that we have formed that limit our greatness.

The bottom line is this: the better you are at solving problems, the more of a Genius you are!

So how can you think like a Genius? Is it possible? When it comes to problem solving, I want to suggest to you that it is easier than you would think. In fact, your 1% Genius is activated when you start focusing on the solution rather than the problem.
