In life, there are 3 kinds of people:

1) those who don’t do what they are asked to do;
2) those who do what they are asked to do; and
3) those who do more than they are asked to do.

Those who do not do what they are asked to do – like a child who does not clean his/her room after being told – fall under the curse of correction. Those who do what they are asked to do – like a child who cleans his/her room when asked – are blessed. And those who do more than they are asked to do – like a child who cleaned his/her room and went above and beyond by taking out the trash without being told to do so – will find favor.

The best way to influence others is to live to serve others. Jesus said the person who is the greatest among you is the one who serves. This was the secret to Joseph having the favor of God on his life. Even while he was in prison, he found favor with the prison guards and was made the leader of the prisoners.

When you have favor with others, you have influence!
