When we fail to mature, we are stuck in our process. To mature through our process requires us to stop having the same conversations over and over. Are these statements familiar or part of your everyday conversations?

  • “Same thing, different day.”
  • “Same people…different place.”
  • “Same conversation…different room.”
  • “Same issue…different job.”
  • “Same result…different circumstances.”
  • “One step forward…two steps backward.”

If so, you are STUCK! You are stuck in the process, the process of maturing. Those statements are the everyday statements of people who are stuck and have not matured through their process.

How do you know when you are making progress in life? The sign is when you do NOT find yourself having the same conversations over and over again.

Don’t be the person that has the “same thing, different day” mentality. We have these kinds of conversations because we didn’t learn the lesson yesterday … 10 years ago … 20 years ago. We will have consequences for our actions in life, but God is a faithful God. HE cares about us, is patient with us, and is longsuffering with us.

We can get frustrated with others, including our family, when they do not do something that we ask of them. But God doesn’t get mad at us for not listening or learning, HE is better than us. He is going to have the conversation as much as it takes for us to get what HE is saying or asking of us. HE will not give up on us.

Yes, there are times in our life when we feel it’s the “same thing, different day” … but God doesn’t want us to be those people. He doesn’t want us to be people that feel like we’re taking one step forward and two steps back. Rather, he wants us to be people who experience a “NEW thing” on a “NEW day.”

It is up to us to mature. Begin by applying this knowledge in your life – a must before you can mature. Do NOT stay stuck, grow, move beyond your process and MATURE.
