Meyer’s Law says, “It is a simple task to make things complex, but a complex task to make things simple.”

We have all felt life’s complexities, the overwhelming feeling of things that need to get done, books and magazines to read, projects to advance, people to get back with, balancing personal and professional obligations, and so on. And like a non-stop assembly line, it all keeps coming, one after another, too fast to get and stay ahead of it all.

So, how can you simplify things? What habits should you develop? Perhaps the best and most effective habit you can develop is the habit of saying “no” to any demand on your time that is not consistent with what matters most to you. The word “no” is powerful. Just learn say “no” to any demand or request that is not the highest and best use of your time and only say “yes” to those that are. When you know what matters most, you can live a life that most matters.
