There is no doubt that we all yearn to have peace in our lives. The question is, how do we make it happen? Yesterday, I shared a thought with you on how to make that happen in your life…Don’t let your heart be troubled…you’ve been given the gift of peace.

Today, I want to share a few more thoughts with you…

  • Have faith beyond your unmet expectations…search for peace.

“Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude. Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will grant you his blessing. For the Scriptures say, “If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies. Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it. The eyes of the LORD watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers. But the LORD turns his face against those who do evil.”
1 Peter 3:8-12 NLT

In this passage, Peter provides general instructions to Christians on how to relate to one another. He describes the kind of people we should be – the attitudes and conduct we should show toward one another. The evidence that God is in your life is revealed by the way you treat those around you. May this Christ-like life characterize your relationships so that you may be a blessing to others as you search for peace and work to maintain it.

  • Put more faith in what God says than what man says.

Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.”
Psalms 119:165 KJV

When you have peace, nothing will offend you. That is a sign of spiritual maturity. Spiritual immaturity is when someone gets offended, it doesn’t matter who they are, if they get offended, they are immature spiritually. To truly have peace, you cannot live in a spirit of offense. Have an un-offendable spirit.

  • Be a peacemaker.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”
Matthew 5:9 NIV

If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.”
Romans 12:18 NIV

If you are going to make peace happen, you have to be a peacemaker. In the King’s Business, I read this story of a little girl, “Mama, dear, I was a peacemaker today,” said a little girl as she snuggled up to her mother in the evening. “How was that?” asked the mother, “I heard something, and I didn’t tell it,” was the reply. “Blessed are the peacemakers.“.

When you are a child of God, success is going to happen, health is going to happen, dreams are going to come true, for you. When you are a child of God, you are blessed!

Choose to live in peace…seek peace, pursue peace…you have to take action to find it, it will not just happen.
