The glory of God is surprising! It is like that feeling you have on Christmas morning – that feeling of anticipation, astonishment and AMAZEMENT – but you don’t know what you are anticipating because all of the gifts are wrapped. You just rush in to see what is revealed in the gifts.

“The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those things which are reveled belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.” -Deuteronomy 29:29

God has things wrapped up for us. There are things hidden from us. God’s glory is like that. When the glory of God begins to manifest in our life, surprisingly good things happen.

That is what Christmas brings, surprising glory. The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.

“Don’t be afraid. Unto us, unto you today a child has been born. I bring you good tidings of great joy. It’s not just to you, but it’s to all people that unto us a savior has been born. Unto us a Son has been given. Unto us the glory from God in the highest has come on earth to bring peace and goodwill.” -Luke 2:10-14

God’s glory is surprising!
