When you are confident in handling change, you are able to instill confidence in your team. A leader’s job is to lead change well … and this requires him/her to be a great change agent!

“Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.” – George Bernard Shaw

Much has been written about change agents. A change agent is someone who has the ability to assess how things have been, address how things are, and progress toward a better future. They make any change possible, especially when it involves human capability and organizational systems.

1. Identify the need for change.
2. Ready the team for change.
3. Communicate effectively.
4. Implement the strategy.

Being the champion of change can be grueling. Think of someone who has been a change agent in your life. List several of the characteristics that made this person a good change agent.
