It’s easy to give meaning to the wrong things in life. It’s easier to give meaning to the hurts in our lives than to the healing of Jesus Christ. It’s easier to give meaning to the problems in our lives than to the solutions God brings us through His Word. It’s easier to focus on the “seen,” rather than the “unseen.”

This season, focus on what matters most (what God wants to be important to you) and not on the wrong things in your life. The enemy of your soul has a plan for your life. He wants to keep what God means to be important to you, from being important to you. He wants the things that have happened in your life – your problems, mistakes, dysfunction – to have MORE meaning than anything else. Why? Because when you give meaning to the wrong things in life, you get on the mean side of life. And that is exactly where the enemy wants to keep you.

My encouragement to you during this season is to focus on what matters most. Intentionally “dial in” your focus to what God wants to be important to you … the true meaning of Christmas … Jesus!  He is the reason for the season!
