Yesterday, I shared the third characteristic of successful people: Belief. Successful people believe they will be successful. Although they may have thoughts of fear, uncertainty, doubt, and other negative emotions, successful people show the willingness to take action in spite of those thoughts.

Today, we are introducing the fourth characteristic all successful people: Learning. Every person lives, but not every person learns. Successful people continue learning after graduation … they become life-long learners.

To grow in every area of your life, you must position yourself as a student, one who is devoted to lifelong learning.

1) Develop a learning agenda. Be intentional about your personal growth and development. Know what you know and what you do not know. Develop your learning agenda to grow your knowledge around what it is you want to know. Value all types of information. Learn from the information you have, the information available to you, and the information that crosses your path.

2) Allow others to become your teachers. In fact, make it a point to learn something from everyone who crosses you path. Some will teach you “how to be” by their example. Some will teach you “how not to be” by their lifestyle. Successful people seize the opportunities to make everyone and everything their teachers. And because of this perspective, they are the beneficiary of both the positive and the negative he/she observes.

3) Learn from every experience. Your ability to learn is one of life’s greatest treasures because it will lead you to places your thinking thought you would never go!

Successful people choose to live life “growing through” what they are “going through” … and this is what creates their breakthroughs!
