There is a difference between transactional and transformational leadership. Both are involved in everything we do … but we naturally tend to be more transactional than transformational.

For example, Skill is focused on what you can do and is transactional. Creativity is focused on a better way and is transformational.

Do you know what happens to some people? They get so skillful, they lose their creativity. It sounds paradoxical, doesn’t it? People can get so focused on what they DO, they forget to BE creative, because they are not THINKING beyond normal. Our natural tendency is to THINK, BE, DO normal.

Change your paradigm from transactional to transformational.

Place your hand on your forehead and say, “I’m going to change today.” Here’s how you’re going to change: know what you bring to the table simply is not what you can do, but is also better way of doing what is needed. Now say, “Because I am always changing for the better, everything and everybody around me has a chance to change for the better too!”

Develop a philosophy that says, “Everything gets better when I get better!”

The creativity part begins with you figuring out how you can be better. Your marriage can be better, because you can be better. Your job can be better, because you can be better. Every area of your life can be better, because you can be better.

Moving from being transactionally centric to transfomationally focused is a life changing adventure. Transform for the better, and go from better to the BEST … the best YOU, you can be!  Why?
