When you do hard things you are training yourself to do GREAT things!

Doing hard things always begins with doing the little things. In faithfully doing the little things, even when no one is watching or can even see, we develop a personal spirit of excellence! Just think of it, if you knew you were going to have to run a marathon one year from today, you’d begin training (if you were wise). You wouldn’t put it off because it will make the experience ahead of you manageable and just maybe even enjoyable! If you put the training off because it’s uncomfortable, how miserable will you be when the big day comes? God wants the things that are uncomfortable or painful for you to actually cause you to grow and make you stronger. This thought process can be summed up simply, “Do easy things = have a hard life. Do hard things = enjoy an easy life.” It may seem counter intuitive but it’s absolutely true! Embrace resistance in your life today and see great results in your future!

Discipline then is the foundation of excellence! It is in the small unheralded moments that we develop the personal capacity for true greatness. What is a daily discipline you can embrace to grow your excellence? (Make your bed every day? Work out? Do the dishes before going to bed?)
