Leadership starts with discovering that when you change what needs to change for the better IN you, you gain the power to change what is around you.
When we learn to lead ourselves through change, we gain the confidence to believe that anything around us can change for the better. We won’t see the kind of change we dream of or hope for until we embrace the fact that WE need to change! We often expect others to do FOR us what we aren’t willing to do for ourselves or for others. We hope other people will change instead of accepting the uncomfortable truth that most often WE need to change if there can be any hope of things being different or changing for the better. Leaders learn to focus on what needs to change IN themselves before they hope to see change in those around them and yet, because leaders think this way, they have hope that those around them can change too. Best of all, when we embrace the fact that WE can change we gain the power to influence positive change in those around us.
