“You encourage God when you find others to give your God-Given glory to.” – Leadershipology.com

Being a leader means working with people, and that’s not always easy! Sometimes it can be discouraging. Mark Twain said, “The best way to cheer yourself up is to cheer others up.”

We encourage ourselves when we encourage others. My 1828 Webster’s Dictionary defines encouragement as: ‘to give or increase confidence of success; to inspire with spirit of strength of mind.’ When you encourage others, you incite people to action and hope.

Jesus has given each person His glory for the purpose of giving it to others. (John 17:22) The best part of every person is the God part of us … the deposit of His glory He has given each of us. When you encourage others, you are giving them the best part of you … the God-given glory in you.

Find someone to encourage today. Here are three easy ways to encourage somebody … today.

  • Smile at them. One of the best gifts you can give anyone is your beautiful smile. Don’t hold back … somebody needs your smile today.
  • Tell them you are glad to see them. Doesn’t it make you feel good when someone tells you that are glad to see you? Make somebody’s day!
  • Compliment them. People want affirmation. Give them a gift of a genuine compliment today.

Be an encourager … all it takes is caring about others and taking action!
