It is common to assume that leadership is all about skills and techniques. However, our leadership begins when we possess the right attitude about our circumstances and ourselves. This is where all change takes place.
Three facts about your attitude:
- it reveals what you believe;
- it reveals that what you see is a result of what you believe; and
- it reveals what is possible or impossible based on your willingness to change what you believe.

Jesus emphasized this principle by teaching that we must get our heart in order before we can get our life in order. He said that when there are evil treasures in a man’s heart, evil emerges … when there are good treasures in a man’s heart, good emerges.
In life, it is not what happens to you that matters most, but what happens in you. What happens in you ultimately determines what happens through you.
It is all about what is inside … as real change occurs from the inside – out.
