“The sum of what you say in life – your life sentences – literally “sentence your life.” – Leadershipology.com

It’s not what other people say about you that matters most. Rather, it’s what you say! Your words create your future, they influence your thinking, and they can change your world! The sum of what you say in life – your life sentences – literally “sentence your life.”

God’s Word says we will be blessed when we start declaring His goodness. If you want your life sentence to be one of blessing, begin speaking His Word over yourself and others every day. The first thing I do each morning is to declare, “Today is the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it!  I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.  Good morning, Precious!”  My first words are those of the Word of God.  I’ve done this since I was fifteen.

Let’s break it down:

  • Today is the day the Lord has made (Psalm 118:24) … I am saying what God says about each day. I acknowledge not only that He made it but also that He made it for me! My message to God is that He is the Lord and supreme leader of my life.
  • I will rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24) … I am stating I have chosen to have an attitude of gratitude and have decided that before anything happens, I will be glad, not mad, not sad, not reactive, but proactively positive – pro-sitive!
  • I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me(Philippians 4:13) … I am declaring the He gives me the strength I need for the day, regardless of what comes my way. By saying, “I Can …” my message is “I am a Can Do person!”
  • Good morning precious (Isaiah 43:4) … I am acknowledging what God says about me. If I believe I am precious in His sight, then I have the power and confidence to make others feel precious!

I encourage you to speak His Word over yourself and others daily … and watch the blessings flow!

What is one step you can take today to develop the daily habit of speaking God’s Word over yourself and others?
