You can only lead yourself if you know What Matters Most to you! I am convinced that most problems people have stem from not knowing how to lead themselves.
- Core values determine your character.
It has been said, “Character is who you are when nobody’s looking.” I believe your character is the real you. The real you is based on what is REALLY important to you. It is the unseen part of you that is eventually revealed in your daily actions.
- Core values shape your culture.
Your core values shape your personal culture and generate specific outcomes. You CAN change your current position. You CAN become more confident of future outcomes. Your objectives are what drive your outcomes. Objectives that matter are built on a foundation of What Matters Most!
- Core values bring clarity and focus.
They express who you are, what you are about, the way you do things, and what you stand for. The better you understand your 1%, the better you can develop and deploy your greatness as defined by your values.
- Core values communicate what is important.
Communication is a window by which others come to understand our values, as expressed by our words, through our actions, in our body language, and by what we support with our resources including our time and money. Our values are also expressed by how we show up to serve beyond our pay grade.
- Core values influence our behavior
We cannot behave differently than what we truly believe matters most. Our behavior will reflect what we value. Behave proactively not reactively.
- Core values elevate effective leadership.
The most important person you will ever lead is yourself. That is what makes Core Values so important.
Your Core Values will help you lead yourself to Think in a unique way, Be a certain way, and Do specific things that cause you to have the life you want.
What are your core values? How are they leading in your life?
