There are certain disciplines that you can do every day to empower yourself – doing things when nobody is looking to take care of things when nobody seems to care! These are called Daily Disciplines.
Maybe one of things that is part of your daily discipline routine is to make up all the beds in your house, or exercising or reading a book. Whatever it is, developing daily disciplines makes you the master of your own life. God is the master and author of life, but He calls us to a life of self-leadership to lead ourselves daily to do the disciplines that it takes everyday to become the person that he has created us to be!
David said in the Book of Psalms that 7 times a day I will give You praise. 7 times a day! Can you have those kinds of anchors in your life? The kind of anchors where they become specific disciplines where you say you know what, when I get to this point in my day here is what I am going to be doing.
When you practice daily disciplines it kills mediocrity in your life. Mediocrity simply means you’re halfway there – don’t stop at halfway. My challenge to you is to give life your best, and life will give its best back to you. Lead yourself first and you will find out that the landscape of your life will become a creative place like you have never known before. If you will lead yourself in personal growth and development you will find out that there are things in your life that you never thought were here. It will begin to bring out creativity in your life. If you will make a commitment to excellence and to developing a spirit of excellence and you will focus inwardly in developing the spirit first, your mind, will and emotions secondly and finally, your body. If you begin to live your life like that you will find out that life’s rewards on this side of eternity will be better than you could ever imagined!
