Imagine you were handed a piece of paper with only a block dot in the center of the paper. You are asked to write about what you see on the paper.
Would you write about the black dot? Or about all the white space around the dot?
Correlate black dots to the negative in your life – the health issues, the lack of money, the complicated relationship with a family member, the disappointment with a friend. Often times we insist on focusing on only the black dot, instead of all the good still left in our lives.
Ask yourself: Are you focused on the black dots in your life – or the white that surrounds it? The dark spots are very small when compared to everything we have in our lives, but they are the ones that often crowd out the good in our minds.
Take your eyes away from the black dots. Enjoy each one of your blessings, each moment that life gives you. Be happy and live a life filled with love.
See the Good Things!
“I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.” Psalm 27:13 NIV
