My library is full of some of the best leadership books ever written. I have read books by many leadership thinkers and gurus, like Peter F. Drucker, Ken Blanchard, Warren Bennis, Stephen Covey, Dale Carnegie, James M. Kouzes, Barry Z. Posner, Max De Pree, John P. Kotter, Thomas J. Peters, Jim Collins, Malcolm Gladwell, W. Edwards Deming, Marcus Buckingham, Tom Kelley, Daniel Goleman, Brian Tracy, Og Mandino, Bill George, Marshall Goldsmith, Denis Waitley, Norman Vincent Peale, Napoleon Hill, and believe it or not, the list goes on and on! My favorite and most inspiring are Zig Ziglar, Tony Robbins, and John Maxwell.
The reason I mention authors I have read is because leaders are readers. When you read someone’s book, you are reading the best of them! Read what others have written. Learn from them. Take action on what you read, and add their greatness to yours!
What is one thing you have recently read and thought about acting on … but you allowed busyness get in the way before taking action? Schedule time TODAY to take action on it and become the beneficiary of that author’s greatness!
